Oprah Winfrey, the modern day talk show queen, was in India, to promote her new show and also graced Jaipur Lit Festival.
At the festival, she spoke about what she saw in India and her thoughts about India.
Let’s refresh our memories about what she saw and spoke about......
Oprah told the waiting crowd, that India has more people that she has ever encountered in her life and yet there is no rage. There’s sense of
calmness even though there are so many people, there is a sense of karma.
She further mentioned how in home all of 6X6 feet she saw family of 5
sleeping together, but, there’s an altar in home much similar to home of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
and Abhishek Bachchan. She recalled, how, when she asked the question, which all Americans
generally do to Abhi-Ash when they were in show. “What is it that all about, that you
with your parents”, and pat comes the reply from from Abhishek “what is that all about, that you don’t? And now I
understand".
A family, four generations in one house, one really gets to know it now. This is a
country that, no respect for nursing homes, because you take care of your families.
And she then moved on to speak about how she has taken to herself to be a
connector to the human art space etc....
In the upcoming part we will talk about what Oprah Winfrey did not see in India....
